Compositions and Arrangements
Composition is fundamental in sharing our unique voices, and develops through practices of listening and arranging existing music. Who we are, what we enjoy listening to, and how we play our instrument(s) are given life through pieces of our own creation.
Below you can browse projects that I have completed in the past and are continuing to work on. These are all original or in the public domain: certain pop song arrangements I have done I cannot distribute due to copyright, even for free... Check in periodically to see what is new, and please consider a donation to see these materials remain free!

Suite No. 1 in D Minor
for Solo Horn
I have written this piece to embody the feelings that I get when practicing or performing movements from the Bach Cello Suites. While these are not as harmonically complex as Bach, their service to a modern hornist will likely be more approachable in many respects.

Adagio and Allegro Op. 70
This piece by Robert Schumann was originally written to be performed on a number of instruments, including cello and horn. The phrasing style and tessitura in the case of horn players supported high range virtuosity. I have arranged the piece down so that people with more mid and low range comfort can enjoy playing it also.

Four Serious Songs Op. 121
Johannes Brahms wrote this towards the end of his life, likely due to grief of the passing of Clara Schumann. It explores many of the dark harmonies that are so typical of Brahms' work and sing so naturally when played on the horn.

Partita in A minor BWV 1013
J.S. Bach wrote a number of solo suites and partitas for various instruments. This particular piece, originally for flute, offers the horn a virtuosic flare. I have arranged it down the octave from concert pitch.
